ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jan received her official ‘license to paint’ (BFA in Studio Painting) at the University of Texas in 1990. Jan’s art career began as a child when she was entranced by colors. She began what she calls her ‘real’ paintings in 1965. This was the beginning of a lifelong obsession with painting abstracts. Pursuing this passion has lead her down many paths in the world of art. She has consistently been exhibiting her work in and around Austin for 20 years. As a cofounder of the Artists Coalition of Austin she worked tirelessly for 10 years promoting not only her work but the work of hundred’s of other Austin visual artists. Now Jan paints full time at the Pump Project Art Complex in east Austin.
